Cheese Aloo Paratha Recipe
Ingredients (for Parathas)
For Dough:
Whole wheat flour (atta) – 2 cups
Salt – ½ tsp
Oil / Ghee – 1 tbsp
Water – as required (to knead soft dough)
For Stuffing:
Boiled potatoes – 3 medium (mashed)
Grated cheese – ½ cup (mozzarella + processed mix best hoti hai)
Finely chopped onion – 1 small (optional)
Green chili – 1 (finely chopped)
Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Red chili powder – ½ tsp
Garam masala – ¼ tsp
Dry mango powder (amchur) – ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Chaat masala – ¼ tsp (optional)
Step-by-Step Method
1. Dough Preparation
In a bowl, mix atta + salt + oil.
Gradually add water and knead a soft dough.
Rest for 15–20 mins covered with a damp cloth.
2. Stuffing Preparation
In another bowl, combine boiled mashed potatoes + grated cheese + chopped chili + coriander + spices.
Mix well so that cheese and potato blend evenly.
Taste the mixture — adjust salt and spice as needed.
3. Making the Paratha
Divide dough into medium-sized balls.
Roll one ball into a small disc.
Place 2 tbsp stuffing in the center.
Seal from all sides and gently flatten.
Roll again into a round paratha (medium thickness).
Heat a tawa on medium flame.
Place paratha, cook one side till bubbles appear.
Flip and apply ghee/butter on both sides.
Cook until golden brown spots appear and crisp texture forms.
Cheese will melt inside, giving that gooey, spicy filling.
Serving Suggestion
Serve hot with:
Butter on top
Curd or plain yogurt
Pickle (especially mango or chili pickle)
A glass of sweet or salted lassi
