Besan Chilla recipe
Ingredients
1 cup gram flour (besan)
1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
1–2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger, grated
2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped
¼ tsp turmeric powder
¼ tsp red chili powder
Salt, to taste
Water, as needed to make a smooth batter
Oil or ghee for cooking
Optional additions:
Finely chopped vegetables like tomato, capsicum, carrot, or spinach
Instructions
In a bowl, mix besan, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt.
Gradually add water to make a smooth, pourable batter (like pancake batter).
Add chopped onions, green chilies, coriander, and any optional vegetables. Mix well.
Heat a non-stick pan or tawa. Grease lightly with oil.
Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it gently into a thin circle.
Cook on medium flame for 2–3 minutes until the edges lift and the bottom turns golden.
Flip and cook the other side for another 1–2 minutes.
Repeat with remaining batter.
Serving suggestion:
Serve hot with green chutney, tomato ketchup, or yogurt.
